Pres. Joe Biden Signs 30+ Executive Orders To Overturn Trump Policies & Protect America

During the first three days in office, President Joe Biden signed 30 Executive Orders and actions. These rapid fire actions reversed many of #45’s policies and launched new initiatives to move America forward. The Biden Administration’s 23-year-old youth poet laureate, Amanda Gorman, speaking on the inauguration, recited her poem “The Hill We Climb” saying: “Being American isn’t a pride we inherit. It’s the past we step into and how we repair it.”

One former Trump aid, speaking on condition of anonymity, said “at the rate Biden is moving, everything Trump did will be gone by the time the sun rises on Monday — except his judicial appointments”, according to an article in the January 22nd New York Times. Click HERE to see this article.

EXECUTIVE ORDERS – HIGHLIGHTS

  1. CORONAVIRUS – These Executive Orders included “The 100 Days Masking Challenge”; stopped the U.S. withdrawal from the World Health Organization; creating a “Covid-19 Response Coordinator”; and several orders expanding U.S. capacity to equitably respond to the pandemic;
  2. FORECLOSURE & EVICTIONS – Extended an existing moratorium on evictions and foreclosures until at least March 31st;
  3. STUDENT LOANS – Extended the existing pause on student loan payments and interest for Americans on federal student loans until September 30th;
  4. PARIS CLIMATE ACCORD – rejoin the Paris Climate Accord, a process that will take 30 days;
  5. KEYSTONE PIPELINE – Cancel the Keystone XL pipeline and review and reverse 100 Trump actions on the environment;
  6. THE 1776 COMMISSION – Rescind the Trump administration’s “1776 Commission”, that claimed Civil Rights movement programs ran counter to the ideals of our founding fathers, and review the Commission’s actions to ensure racial equity.
  7. LGBTQ+ RIGHTS – Prevent workplace discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identify;
  8. IMMIGRATION – Fortify DACA after Trump’s efforts to undo protections for undocumented people brought into the United States when they were children; reverse Trump’s ban on U.S. entry by people from seven Muslim majority countries; undo Trump’s expansion of immigrant enforcement in the U.S.; and halt construction of a border wall by terminating the emergency order used to fund it;
  9. LABOR & WAGES – Restore collective bargaining power and worker protections for federal workers; Lay the foundation for a $15/hour minimum wage;
  10. STRUGGLING FAMILIES – Call for assistance for those who are struggling to buy food, missed out on stimulus checks or are unemployed.

President Biden’s recently introduced $1.9 trillion COVID relief legislation provides the opportunity to provide boost our economy, provide access to COVID relief and assistance to families. Action on sections of this bill could be adopted in the House during the first week of February, according to a  January 21st article in CNBC.
